Artist Bonnell Marie Cotnoir earned her degree in Botanical Illustration from The New York Botanical Garden. She continued her study of botanical art painting at the New York Horticultural Society. Bonnie presently paints in an artist circle at the Rye Art Center expanding her watercolor methods and subjects. Her work has been inspired by several artists including Mindy Lighthipe, Carol Bolt, Brigitte Loritz and Sally Tobin.
As a member of IATSE Screen Cartoonists Local 841, Bonnie was influenced by renowned animator Ralph Bakshi while working at Terrytoons/ CBS.
Bonnie has won numerous awards for her art. She continues to exhibit privately and in group shows in New York and Massachusetts, including annually at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Her work is held by private collectors and has also been published.
Bonnie presently teaches watercolor painting in Larchmont, NY at The Center For Continuing Education and at the Scarsdale Adult School.
Bonnie finds her joy in the process and that is the beauty of her art.
